Men’s Par Championship round 3: A Grade winner was Darren Gill with -1 on a countback from Craig McKenzie. Nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th was Bob Bedson and on the 9 th /18 th was Craig McKenzie. B Grade winner was Manuel Quintana -1 with Bernie Coller only one stroke away with -2. None of the B grade players managed to win a nearest the pin. Congratulations to the 2018 Par Championship winner Craig McKenzie.
Six Apollo Bay women travelled to Winchelsea to play in their Memorial Bowl. Stacey Thomas won A grade with a splendid 40 points. Our team of Stacey Thomas, Caroline Wren and Sandra Toone were runners up in the Bowl with 107 points, just one point behind the winning team, from Lorne who had 108 points.
Women’s 18- hole Stableford competition and final round of the stableford championships. Winner, Margaret Smith had 30 points, and the runner-up Sandra Toone scored 29 points. 30-45 handicap winner was Jeanette Dodds with 27 points and Runner-up was Faith Morrissy with 24 points. The stableford champion over 3 rounds was Margaret Smith with 84 points and on 82 points Janice McKenzie was the runner-up. The Grandmother’s Trophy was won by Helen Stevens on a count-back from Jeanette Dodds.
Men’s Pinehurst Pairs Stroke 18 holes, was won by Chris Hansen and David Ivens with Nett 64 5/8 with. Runners-up were Bill Buckley and Geoff Vesey with 67 ¼ nett. Nearest the pin 1 st /10 th A Grade was Bob Bedson and on 9 th /18th Bernie Coller was the closest.
Women’s 9 holes stroke competition held in beautiful sunshine was won in A Grade by Margaret Smith with 49-11-38. Runner-up Kerryn Wagstaff scored 52-12 ½ -39 ½ . In B Grade, Sandra Toone won with 54-14 ½ – 39 ½ and Runner-up Dawn Thomas scored 55-14 ½ 40 ½ . The putting was won by Norma Begely with 15 putts.
Men’s Par Championship round 2: Winner in A Grade was Craig McKenzie with +2 while runner-up Geoff Vesey was square. In Bf grade Ray Matthew won and Bernie Coller was the runner-up. Nearest the pin A Grade, 1 st /10 th was Darren Gill and in B Grade, Peter Forbes. On the 9 th /18 th hole Craig McKenzie was the only contender.
Mixed 4-person Ambrose – Texas Scramble was cancelled due to lack of competitors.

Winner, Janice McKenzie had 31 points, and the runner- up Kerryn Wagstaff scored 30 points. 29-45 handicap winner was Jeanette Dodds with 25 points and Runner- up on a count-back from Jan Shaw, was Dawn Thomas with 24 points. Nearest the pin was Kerryn Wagstaff. There is one round remaining, to be played Thursday 11 th October and so far the leaders are Janice McKenzie on 56 and Dawn Thomas on 55.
Men’s 4BBB stableford 18 holes was won by Graeme McKenzie and Willie Kiffoto with 45 points. Runners-up, on a count-back from Bernie Coller and John Nankervis, were Ray Matthews and Lance Thomas with 40 points. Nearest the pin 1 st /10 th A Grade was Geoff Vesey and in B Grade Graeme McKenzie took the honour.
