The result of the women’s Otway Pennant match played at Anglesea against Colac was a 5-0 win to Apollo Bay.
Third round of the women’s Summer Cup where Janice McKenzie in A Grade scored a 98/71. Runner-up Stacey Thomas beat Vicki Hannah and Margaret Smith on a count-back with 87/71. In B Grade, Jeanette Dodds won with 107/69 and runner-up Caroline Wren scored a 109/71. Putting A Grade: Stacey Thomas 28 and B Grade: Jeanette Dodds 29 putts.
The final week of the men’s 4 week stableford competition resulted in a win in A Grade for John Nankervis 38 points, with runner-up on a count- back Bernie Coller also 38. Nearest the pin 1/10, Craig McKenzie, and 9/18 – Geoff Vesey. In B Grade, Manuel Quintana scored 39 points and Alan Rowarth, runner-up had 36 points. NTP 1/10 was Bill Buckley. The 4 week winner was Manuel Quintana.
Women’s 9 holes stableford. In A Grade, Dawn Thomas won with 19 points, closely followed by runner-up Sandra Toone on 18 points. B Grade winner Jeanette Dodds scored 19 points and Runner-up Maureen Vesey who also had a nearest the pin on 1 st hole, was runner-up with 18 points.
Men’s Summer Cup round 3 was won by Geoff Vesey 85/64, with runner-up Richard Stone scoring 80/65. Richard also had NTP on 9/18 and Don O’Meara was the nearest on 1 st /10 th hole. In B grade, Alan Rowarth was the winner, with runner-up Manuel Quintana. Nearest the pin 1/10 was Lance Thomas and on 9/18 Doug Honey took the honour.
The chicken run was won this week by Doug Honey with 22 points and Alan Rowarth scored 20 points.
The women’s pennant team were beaten by Ocean Grove 3/2 at Clifton Springs.
Second round of the women’s Summer Cup. Vicki Hannah burned up the course with a winning score of 79-15-64 and runner-up Sandra Toone scored 96-30-66 on a count-back from Dawn Thomas. B Grade winner Faith Morrissy had her best round ever with a 93-33-60 nett. Runner-up Maureen Vesey had 107-38-69 on a count-back from Jeanette Dodds. The putting competition was won by Vicki Hannah in A grade with 28 putts, and in B grade, Martha Macintyre won with 30 putts. This week a team of women played at Clifton Springs in an SWGA event of Irish 4BBB and came in 11 strokes in front of the next best. In A grade Nearest the pin 1/10 was Bob Bedson and on 9/18 Ian Richardson was the closest.
Women’s 9 hole stableford round A Grade winner was Barb Cullen 20 points, with runner- up Shirley Amery scoring 19 points. The B Grade winner was Robyn Lamson with 23 points. Runner-up Maureen Vesey scored 22 points
Men’s Summer Cup round 2. In A grade Brian McKenzie won with 18/61 and runner-up Chris Hansen had 18/66 on a count-back from Don Wagstaff and Craig McKenzie, both 10/66. Brian and Craig both achieved nearest the pins on the 1 st /10 th and 9 th /18 th holes respectively. In B Grade, Bill Buckley won with 19/58 and Lance Thomas was runner-up with 28/61. Rod Beecroft was nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th hole for B grade.
