Men’s 3-man Stableford Classic was won by Jason Newcombe, Darren Gill and Chris Hansen 94 points. Bill Buckley, Geoff Vesey and Ian Richardson were the runners-up with 86 points. Nearest the pin 1 st /10 th in A grade was Don Wagstaff and in B grade Jason Newcombe was successful.
Men’s Par and Mulligan. The winner in A Grade was John Nankervis with +1, and the runner-up was Bob Bedson who lost on a count-back, also with +1, but nailed the nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th . In B Grade, Bill Buckley won with +6 and Brian McKenzie was runner-up with +2. Visitor Russell Lehmann was nearest the pin in B grade on 1 st /10 th hole.
Final Round of the Men’s Championships. In A Grade Darren Gill won with 74-8-66 and runner-up Richard Stone shot 81-14-67. Colin Coleman achieved nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th hole. In B grade Tony Campbell won with 88-6-62 and runner-up Brian McKenzie scored 89-29-69. Jason Newcombe was nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th hole. The Club Champion is Darren Gill with 225 and runner-up is Don Wagstaff 232. The Laurie Gunn Trophy for best nett aggregate over the championship rounds went to Darren Gill and Don Wagstaff, both with 201. The B Grade Champion is Brian McKenzie with 269 and Runner-up Ray Matthews scored 275. The Veteran’s Champion (60+) was won by Tony Campbell who also won the monthly medal. Medal of Medallists was won by Darren Gill with 66 nett.
Men’s stroke 4-weeker Championship. Apologies to Graham McKenzie, who won last week (not his son Craig). The winner this week in A Grade was Bernie Coller with 68 nett and runner-up, John Nankervis, on a count-back from Colin Coleman, scored 70 nett. Nearest the pins, second shot on the 7 th and 8 th holes was Richard Stone and on the 6 th hole it was Bernie Coller. In B Grade Bill Buckley won with 69 nett and Peter Forbes, on a count-back from Manuel Quintana had 71 nett. Bill Buckley and Peter Forbes were the most accurate with their second shots on the 7 th and 6 th holes respectively. The champion of the four-weeker competition, where only the winners of the season’s 4-week competitions were eligible to play in the “Don Wagstaff Cup” was Bernie Coller and the runner-up in this competition was Don O’Meara. Unfortunately we lost another golf club member this week, Doug Dalli. Vale Doug.

Don Wagstaff was runner-up with 67 nett and a nearest the pin on 9 th /18 th . In B grade, Ian Richardson was the winner with 63 nett and Ray Matthews was runner- up scoring 64 nett.
Men’s stroke 4-weeker final round. The winner was Craig McKenzie and Manuel Quintana was runner-up. Nearest the pin A Grade 1 st /10 th was Don Wagstaff and on 9 th /18 th Willy Kifotu and in B grade, Lance Thomas and Brian McKenzie were closest. The 4-week winners were Bernie Coller and Brian McKenzie with 189.

Men’s stroke 4-weeker round 2. The winner was Bernie Coller 82-18-65 and Peter Forbes with 87-23-64 was runner-up. Nearest the pin 1 st /10 th was Don Wagstaff and in B Grade, Peter Forbes was successful.
Coastal Challenge at Peterborough. Apollo Bay vs. Peterborough. Apollo Bay
454 defeated Peterborough 442. Best scores for Apollo Bay were Bewley Marlow 40 points, Bernie Coller 38 and Don Wagstaff, Rocky Dimieri and Bob Bedson all with 37 points. Best score for the women was Kerryn Wagstaff with 34 points. Next Sunday (the Men’s championships have been postponed until 18/11) the Coastal Challenge will be played against Peterborough in Apollo Bay 10 am shotgun start.
