It was opening Day for the women golfers. The 1 st putt for the season honour went to Jill Fowler for winning the SWGA B grade championship in 2018. The competition to follow was an 18 hole 3-person Ambrose, played in very blustery conditions with a smattering of rain. The winning team, comprising of Margaret Smith, Shirley Amery and Joycie Henderson scored 71-15½ -55 ½ and the runners-up were Sandra Toone, Jeanette Dodds and Jan Shaw and Caroline Wren with 78-17¼-60¾. The team with the least putts, 23, was Sandra Kent, Sami Oguzhan and Marie Murnane.
1 st Round men’s 4 week Stableford competition, the winner in A Grade was David Hand with 41 points. David also had nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th hole for A Grade. Runner-up on 40 points was Don O’Meara. B Grade winner, Manuel Quintana scored 40 points with runner-up Bruce Amery on 36 points. Brian McKenzie achieved a nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th hole.
Men: Bob Bedson won with 38 points and Brian McKenzie was runner-up with 37 points.
Women: Kay Hill was the winner 36 points and on 34 points Denise Nachar was the runner-up.NTP Men: 1/10 Ian Richardson and 9/18 Colin Coleman. Vicki Hannah was nearest the pin 9/18 for the women.
