The women had a 2-person Ambrose competition which saw Jan Shaw and Dawn Thomas win with 87-15-72 nett. Runner-up team of Sandra Kent and Sally Stone scored 89-13 ¾ – 75 ¼ . The team with the least putts Adele Rowarth and Maureen Vesey, had 27 putts.
Men’s stroke competition using a maximum of five clubs. In A Grade Geoff Vesey won with 78/61 and runner-up was Peter Forbes 85/62. Peter also had nearest the pin for B grade on 1 st /10 th hole. In A Grade Richard Stone was the most accurate driver. On 9 th /18 th hole, Ian Richardson was the only NTP contender.
Women’s 9 holes stroke competition was won by Janice McKenzie in A Grade with 46-121/2 – 33 ½ followed by Adele Rowarth 52-13 ½
– 37 ½ . The winner in B Grade was Sami Oguzhan who scored 53- 17 ½ – 35 ½ with Caroline Wren on 53-19-39 nett runner-up. Caroline also won the putting competition on a count-back from Janice McKenzie and Sandra Toone with 15 putts.
Men’s 4 BBB Stableford was won by Graeme and Craig McKenzie with 41 points. Runners-up were Tim McClelland and Don Wagstaff who scored 40 points. The only player close to the pin on 1 st /10 th hole was Darren Gill.
The women’s Stroke competition was won in A grade by Sandra Toone 102-27-75. Runner-up Dawn Thomas had 76 nett. In B Grade, Jan
Shaw was a winner with 108-30-78 and runner-up Sami Oguzhan scored an 80 nett. Putting in A Grade on a count-back from Adele Rowarth and Vicki Hannah was won by Dawn Thomas with 31 putts. B grade putting was won by Cheryle Polgeest with 29 putts. Best Gross score
was Vicki Hannah with 95, and monthly medal winner Sandra Toone had 75 nett.
By popular vote the game of the day for men competitors was Stableford, one grade only. The winner was Bill Buckley 35 nett with runner-up Will Kifoto losing on a count-back from the winner. Nearest the pin on 1 st /10 th was Geoff Vesey.
Women’s 9 holes stableford/stroke competition was won by Dawn Thomas with 22 points and runner-up Cheryle Polgeest scored 15 points.
Men’s Stableford competition was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
